Aheneah
Street artist Aheneah is one in a million. No-one else does what she does. This Portuguese artist combines a background in graphic design and her grandmother’s embroidery lessons into a form of pixel images through which centuries-old craftsmanship speaks. Although her work appears to be rather digital from a distance, it is actually as analogue as it gets. Using yarns and textiles as her foremost materials, Aheneah literally stitches her murals together. She needed eighteen thousand screws and at least a dozen volunteers to complete her project in Ostend.
