Axel Void
Void combines different artistic disciplines, allows current events to breach his work, tempers occasionally dark statements with a pinch of irony, plays around with surroundings, looks for beauty in the ordinary and has a reputation in the field as a real workhorse. For The Crystal Ship, he has set to work twice on the immense wall in Vingerlingstraat. Each time, an encounter with a neighbourhood resident with whom he felt a genuine connection – Mariette – served as the foundation of his work. This drawing is her wallpaper.
