Caco (aka Carlos Sugliano) lives in Pinamar, a municipality in the Argentinean province of Buenos Aires that includes the hamlet of … Ostende! Needless to say, the ‘real’ Ostend has a good relationship with it. And now, so does The Crystal Ship. The festival went in search of local art talent there and arrived at Caco. The expressive nature of his portraits lent itself perfectly to an exploration of James Ensor’s work. So much so that the Argentine artist chose to portray the great master alongside some of the hallmarks of his oeuvre.
