Case blossomed within this artistic current, but gradually added his own layer of surrealism. He often focuses on the human body. The artist combines hands, feet and heads with animal-like, abstract and surreal shapes to question the concept of man. Case is also renowned for his enormous technical know-how.
To find inspiration for his artwork in Ostend, Case went to the pub and spoke with the regulars. Ostend-native Alan caught his attention with the story of how his father fought the Nazis as a lieutenant in WWII. Case decided to paint Alan, holding a picture of his father, on the outer wall of the pub.
