Marina Capdevila
The portfolio of this freelance illustrator boasts some famous brands. Reebok, Zara, Movistar,…, stood in line to collaborate with Capdevila. This offers no surprise when you consider her remarkable style. The Spaniard lets the beauty of elderly people inspire her. In playful and colourful scene depictions, the main subjects show it is possible to age in style. The artist is not afraid to use exaggeration and irony.
With her mural in Ostend, Marina turns her gaze towards the future. She based her work on vintage postcards but immediately turned it into a political message. You see an elderly lady drinking a cocktail on a rubbish dump. Marina wants us to reflect on climate change; a popular theme with street artists today.
