Ricky Lee Gordon
For ‘The Crystal Ship’, Ricky Lee Gordon went to visit the apartment building on which he was going to paint his mural. He got inspired by a 19th Century picture he found over there. The artist painted the lower level of the face as a tribute to all the people we meet every day but do not know. This is why he purposely did not draw the eyes. The upper level of the painting represents the sea and the text that accompanies the painting, is about the role of art as a ‘collective memory’.
This artwork was painted over by Zenith in 2020.
